Mission Statement

When painting commissions, my mission is to create a painting that fills you with emotion for years to come.

I want to capture you. What you are. Your essence. More importantly, I want the “you” in the painting to capture the viewer. I want the piece to draw the viewer in so the line between life and art is blurred to the point that it’s not easy to tell the difference. I want the painting to take your breath away.

I paint in oil, using the highest quality materials in the industry. I use Belgian linen rather than canvas as I love its longevity, feel, and its textural contribution to the final appearance of the painting.

I meet with prospective clients over the phone or preferably in person for 1-2 hours generally, to get to know you, or to know about your loved one. We then come up with a plan for timeframe (generally nine months or so, due to my layered painting style) cost, delivery, etc.

If you desire, I will provide for you copies of my notes, including those I write while sitting in front of the blank canvas prior to painting. I can also include photographs of the work in progress, so you can see how I reached the final result.
